BEYONCE MET GALA 2016 INSPIRED MAKE-UP TUTORIAL
The Met Gala is a place where creatives can go mad, all out. It is not just a function, it’s an event marking the beginning of a fashion extravaganza with themes that dominate at the Museum throughout the entire year. Beyoncé, as some of you are already know is a favourite of mine to see on the Met GALA red carpet. When Beyoncé stepped on the Red carpet at the Met gala 2016 she wore something similar to what we saw last year. She wore nude, a colour strongly associated with natural. I wasn’t too much a fan of her dress because I thought the MET GALA is not just something to go to, it’s an event that costs each person not invited a whopping 25 000.00 dollars cash, so why not go all out?.
A couple of years ago the MET GALA ticket price was raised to an extra 10 000.00 dollars to increase its exclusivity. Kylie Jenner was invited but so was TYGA who is now her ex-boyfriend. Apparently, if Tyga wasn’t with Kylie Jenner, he would not have made the cut. Meaning, he would not have been invited. That’s how exclusive this MET GALA is.
I honestly liked and even loved what Beyoncé wore to the met gala, but I felt like it was not as daring or outrageous compared to the other times she graced that red met gala carpet. One can actually call the met gala a costume party. Lol but when you think about it, when Beyoncé wears NUDE to a costume party she’s probably wearing ‘Becky’s skin’ as a costume. Becky is the girl she talks about in one of the songs in her new Album Lemonade. Because she isn’t white she wears a white woman’s skin as a costume maybe? Lol how weird.
What I did love about Beyoncé’s Look at the met gala was her makeup. Loved everything about it. Beyoncé’s makeup was a bit scary, unusual and out there. Was happy she didn’t do the normal, soft pinks and glamorous colours and so I decided to create a makeup tutorial in her honour. So this is the Beyoncé met Gala makeup look tutorial inspired by costumes ad living outside the box.
