Where to eat in Pretoria: Lunch at Turn n Tender Kolonnade. The first Turn n Tender I ever visited was the Turn n Tender Midrand, at my good friend Slindile’s Surprise birthday dinner. The ambiance was chilled, the lights sparkling and the waiters always friendly. I must mention friendly waiters because friendliness isn’t something that’s always received. The Second Turn and Tender I visited was the Turn n Tender Menlyn Maine. Turn n Tender Menlyn Maine, I stumbled on it when my sister invited me for dinner. When I got there, I think they were celebrating something work related, I couldn’t relate. I stayed though, for the food. I ordered the 1 kg beef ribs. Guys, when I say that those ribs were delicious, I am not exaggerating. It was the first time I tasted beef ribs, as I do not eat pork ribs.
I became a regular customer at Turn n Tender when I tasted their desserts. Their red-velvet-cheese-cake is to die for. Party in my mouth. At times I’d go to Turn n Tender just to eat their desserts. Absolutely mouth-watering.
If you are looking for where to eat In Pretoria, and you are really hungry… try Turn n Tender. Another thing I like about Turn n Tender is that their servings are really huge. Linda (one of my best friends, almost a sister and a damn good photographer) and I decided to go shopping at the Kolonnade Mall and ended up going to Turn n Tender Kolonnade mall for Lunch. Linda was fasting that day so she had the juice and I ordered the vegetable curry with rice. When the dish arrived at the table, it was almost as if the food was for two people.
When you are looking for where to eat in Pretoria consider portion size of other restaurants and compare them to portion sizes of Turn n Tender anywhere or Turn n Tender Kolonnade if you live in the area. The rice tasted like normal rice, with a bit of seasoning and spicy peppers. The Vegetable curry was the star of the show. It smelled almost like good Indian curry, as I asked them to make it hot. Not to self, ask for mild next time. The Vegetable curry was almost Divine, and heavenly. Never tasted a vegetable curry like that in my entire life, and I’ve beeeeen living.
Oh, yes… before I forget. I ordered starters. One word to explain my sea food starter is SUCCULENT. And if I had to add another word to explain this godly dish, the word will be Yummy!!!Xoxo
