Netflix can be a very daunting and confusing place to network around and really see what to watch. Well i spent a lot of December watching a couple of good series and wasted some time on some really bad ones. Today though, i will be giving you guys my two cents on top 10 Netflix Series to watch. Today we focus on series and on another day, we will focus on Netflix original Movies. I love Netflix Original series because you cant get them anywhere apart from Netflix. Then there is the ‘Netflix Originals ‘ of which are or were available to watch somewhere else and now , once Netflix buys the rights to those movies or series, Netflix Calls them ‘Netflix Originals’. But, I’m not trying to get into the whole Politics of it all, just sharing my top 10 Netflix Series to watch on Netflix S.A
1st of the Top 10 Neflix must was Series: Altered Carbon
One of the best Netflix Series I’ve ever seen on Netflix is ALTERED CARBON. When I watched Altered Carbon, i was seriously glued to my computer. Altered Carbon is A sci-fi, thriller, drama set in the distant future where the world is more digital and peoples consciousness can be stored on disks called “stacks” at the back of the head. The Bodies are called ‘Sleeves’. And the sleeves are used almost like clothes you can pick from a closet, and change whenever you want. Obviously, not everyone can afford to change to a different body whenever they please so the rich are the ones with the advantage. So, a traditional death just means movement from one bag of flesh to the next.
Takeshi Kovacs is a violent mercenary who wakes up 300 years after his sleeve ‘body’ is killed, to find the world a very different place and himself in a very different body. He’s given an unlikely option: he can spend the rest of his life behind bars or help solve the “murder” of Earth’s wealthiest man.
Altered Carbon has tons of violence, nudity and moral lessons. It’s an adaptation of Richard Morgan’s cyberpunk novel Altered Carbon, set in the future. Its a MUST SEE if you into science fiction, thrillers and action with a futuristic story line.
2nd of the Top 10 Neflix must was Series: Star Trek: Discovery
What i liked most about Star Trek: Discovery was the female lead. To be honest, I was intrigued at the leading lady because she is the girl from The Walking Dead Original series. So to see her as the Lead Actress in Star Trek : Discovery? I had to watch. Star Trek: Discovery is exceptional!
I’ve never been a fan of Star Trek movies to the extent that when there are modern movies releases, i’m not excited. I’m not even sure if i have watched any of the Star Trek Movies. They are A LOT.
When i watched Star Trek : Discovery, the series on Netflix, even if i haven’t seen any of the other Star Trek Series or Movies, i didn’t feel like i’m missing a back story or that i should have watched the previous ones in order for me to make sense of the series or catch up. Star Trek: Discovery is really good. Visuals are great. Awesome story line and good acting. A must watch if you looking for adventure, thrill and a roller coaster ride into space.
3rd of the Top 10 Netflix must was Series: Requim
For a series that begins with a man jumping off the roof of a mansion, “Requiem” has a surprisingly steady buildup. Like the camera slowly creeping toward a mysterious figure in the forest or a room at the end of the hallway. Netflix’s latest British Modern day story is a six-episode blend of mystery, suspense, and horror that tackles a big idea on a small scale.
“Requiem” is a limited short series of the journey of self discovery by Matilda Gray (Lydia Wilson), a cellist preparing for her latest high-profile bookings as a classical performer. Then a jarring, unexpected family tragedy takes her out of her metropolitan life and sends her on a quest to rural Penllynith for answers about some mysterious photographs.
The Series is is a definite horror but it also has a good story, as Horrors go. Its intriguing but a bit confusing. You will stay watching just so that you will find out , only at the end, the actual plot of the series.
4th of the Top 10 Neflix must was Series: Good Girls
Good Girls is a drama series that follows three suburban wives who fall into desperate circumstances and take on risky endeavors.
In the series premiere, these suburban moms decide that being good never got them anywhere, and rob a supermarket in order to get a little cash to help them and their families out. Unfortunately, the supermarket is already the territory of a local gang, and the women soon find themselves in hot water.
Good Girls is smart, funny and impossibly watchable thanks to the excellent cast of three actors at their best: Christina Hendricks is a revelation, putting her sultry Mad Men days behind her to deliver intense, good acting and Parks and Recreation’s Retta is wholly compelling, and Mae Whitman is pure charm. Cant wait for season two. If you looking for good but subtle comedy, Good Girls is the one.
5th of the Top 10 Netflix must was Series: BLACK
5th series from the top 10 must Watch Netflix Series is: BLACK. If you are into Asian Series with Subtitles, you will love this crime thriller. I don’t like foreign movies or series, only because its a lot of reading. I know there are a lot of you guys who love Narcos but i couldn’t get through the first season. Too much reading.
The only reason i watched all 18 episodes of this Asian Crime semi Horror Drama series was because the story line had me at ‘Hello’. All the episodes were fun to watch and the last few episodes had the most oh em gee moments and ooohhhhh realizations and bravado at the end. Its a must watch if you don’t mind reading. But after the 18th episode, i couldn’t watch another Asian series with subtitles.
6th of the Top 10 Netflix must was Series the Haunting of Hill House.
If you into good Modern day Horror, exclusive of human butchering, a good scare, great acting and a mind-blowing storyine, look no further. I loved this horror series so much, I already did a review on it in 2018. Read more about it HERE.
7th of the Top 10 Netflix must was Series: Black Mirror
7th of 10 Netflix Series you must watch is: Black Mirror. The series, not the movie. Black Mirror Series are Science Fiction and Fantasy stories that taps into the collective unease about our modern world.
Each Episode feels like a movie because once the episode is done a new one begins with new characters all together and a new story line. Almost like watching American Horror story. Each season is different , but its one series.
So many moral , technological, futuristic, consequential lessons to discover in Black Mirror. The first episode of season 1 is a vivid reminder of the power of popular opinion (twitter trends and tweets) and how it can be manipulated by the media.
8th of the Top 10 Netflix must was Series: YOU
YOU Is a Netflix Series about a very hot guy who is a stalker. The guy is so hot, one would wonder why is he even stalking. The obvious reasons why a ‘normal’ hot guy would stalk a woman would maybe be because he lacks in providing what most woman want in a guy.
You is an American psychological thriller television series. The first season is based on the eponymous 2014 novel by Caroline Kepnes and follows Joe Goldberg, a New York bookstore manager (portrayed by Penn Badgley) who falls in love with a customer named Guinevere Beck (Elizabeth Lail) and quickly becomes obsessed with her. This is a must watch if you are into dark mystery and a psychological mind puzzle.
9th of the Top 10 Netflix must was Series: Hemlock Grove
The 9th must watch Netflix series: Hemlock Groove. Hemlock Grove is not your usual class of Ware-wolf and Vampire series. It takes the notion of modern day werewolf and vampire to a whole other level. Hemlock groove is a good series to watch because the cast is diverse and it is really gory. That’s not to suggest every episode is blood-soaked, but this is the kind of gore that can hit you without much warning, especially in handy flashback reminders like “REMEMBER THAT MUTILATED BODY FROM LAST EPISODE HERE IT IS AGAIN JUST IN CASE.”
Watch Hemlock Grove if you enjoy seeing blood and being horrified, simultaneously. Watch it if you like never really like knowing what’s going on and you are really into entrails. Watch Hemlock Grove if you wish Cruel Intentions had more nudity, incest, awkward dialogue, blood, and werewolves. Last reason to watch Helmock Grove; if you like all of the gratuitous sex scenes in Game of Thrones, but wish they included more self-mutilation.
Number 10 Top 10 Netflix must was Series: Orphan Black
If you looking to binge watch a series, choose Orphan Black. Orphan Black is a series about Clones. There are different clones played by one person. Her acting is so good, it makes you forget that its actually one person playing them ALL..
The plot is well intertwined and no information is lost in the middle of the history. Each end of episode is an extra emotion, with a sense of season finales, which incites curiosity and makes us want to marathon the whole series at once.
Orphan Black for the win
Ok, so as you guys have guessed by now, i’m not into the romantic Comedies, romance movies or anything Romance. I’m more into supernatural, sci-fi, horror, crime thrillers, thrillers in general and visually appealing creatives, drama and fake stuff. I watch to escape, to be transported to another world, another era, another age previously forgotten. Romantic dramas feel too close to home for me. lol, that being said, Ill give you my top 10 Rom-Coms on Netflix if you request it by leaving a comment below.
