Tom Ford Velvet Orchid is an oriental (Eastern Europe, Asian) floral scented perfume that stimulates the basic instincts of humanity in a very sexual way. It does this by using the subtle power of seduction, laced with notes of cool citrus, boisterous floral petals, honey and rum.
Tom Ford Velvet Orchid Consist of Italian Bergamot:
Citrus bergamia, also known as the bergamot orange, is a rare and colourful scented citrus fruit the size of an Orange, with a yellow or green color similar to an unripe Banana. Bananas start of green and end up dark yellow or brown when overly ripe.
Some research into the origins of citrus fruit growers and producers found Citris bergamot to be a hybrid fruit of lemon and bitter orange. And because of this inbreed, Tom Ford Velvet Orchid perfume is sweet, but it is not TOO SWEET or overly girly. It is a fragrance for ladies, not young girls.
The Bergamia extracts have been used for centuries to give a fragrance to some of the things we eat, perfumes, and makeup. Bergamia can be used anywhere you like but use on the skin is not recommended.

Tom Ford Velvet Orchid also has essence of Rum
Rum is a distilled alcoholic drink drank by many and made by fermenting then distilling mostly sugarcane juice. The clear liquid, is usually aged in oak barrels. I had my first taste of Rum when i was 19 years of age. I tasted it in an ice cream Called Rum and Raisins. My boyfriend at the time introduced it to me. It was really delicious to eat.
Tom’s Velvet Orchid also has base notes of Honey:
Honey is a sweet substance made by these semi-dangerous flying insects called bees. Honey is usually used in breakfast foods or used by people who do not like eating refined sugars. Bees produce honey from floral nectar or from production of other insects (such as honeydew). Bees store honey in wax structures called honeycombs. Honey is then collected from hives of domesticated or wild bees and refined for production of other products or to be sold in its rawest form.
Honey acquires its sweetness from the fructose and glucose, and has about the same relative sweetness as sucrose (table sugar). The sweet substance has been used for years for baking and flavouring or sweetening. So it makes sense that honey be used in Tom Fords Velvet Orchid to give it that raw , untamed sweetness.
FUN FACT: Most microorganisms do not grow in honey, so sealed honey does not go bad (spoil), even after thousands of years.
Velvet and Black Orchid Accord:
The Orchids are a diverse and widespread family of flowering plants, with blooms that are often colourful and smell really good. These flowers are collectively known as the orchid family. Orchids are one of the two largest families of plants that produce flowers.
Some of the most nice smelling perfumes i have had the opportunity to smell have been made using the scent of orchids and some of my favorites are: Balmain Extatic Gold Musk EDT for Women, CALVIN KLEIN ETERNITY PURPLE ORCHID which you can purchase HERE
This perfume also has Vanilla
Vanilla is a flavoring derived from orchids of the genus family Vanilla. Vanilla is the second-most expensive spice after saffron. It is expensive because growing the vanilla seed pods needs a lot of manual and human power. It would make sense that a perfume that has hints of Vanilla as a top or base note is expensive. And, Vanilla is highly valued for its flavor because the scent is so unique. As a result, vanilla is widely used in both commercial and domestic baking, perfume manufacture, and aromatherapy and in the Tom Ford Velvet Orchid.
Conclusion
All in all, Tom Ford Velvet Orchid is a feminine but not too girly smelling perfume. It has all the makings of a perfume to be worn by a young mysterious, sensual woman. And if Flower but not too sweet is what you are looking for, the Velvet Orchid is the one.
