SUNSET GOLD EYE SHADOW, THE BRONZE SUMMER GODDESS LOOK

Sunset Gold Eye shadow and Bronze Summer Makeup.

I remember the first time I was blown away by makeup. I was going through a breakup and I decided to visit my friend at work during her lunch period. I got there way after lunch, around 2PM. This was a couple of years back. Maybe 10 years ago, anyways, after mopping and crying and confiding in my friend, she consoled me and gave me a few words of motivation, as all good friends should do, then it was closing time.

She was getting ready to leave the office so she picked up a Clinique compact powder from her bag and lightly stroked her face with the sponge that came with it.  She instantly transformed! My friend is naturally beautiful but at that moment, she looked glamorous. Slindile had this beautiful brown skin and the Clinique compact powder made her look like she was glowing, as if she had bronze summer makeup on with sunset gold eye shadow.

Because we have a similar skin tone, I asked to try it, and my life has NEVER been the same again after that experience. Its amazing how one moment can change us for forever. I love wearing makeup that looks as natural as possible. My bottom lip is pink and my top lip is dark brown, so wearing a red lipstick might not be all the way natural, but its more natural than wearing blue or black or purple etc. Not that I have anything against ‘unnatural’ lip shades, I love them for occasions. But for this day time summer beauty look, I’ve chosen to wear an orange, red inspired by the spirit of bronze summer makeup.

To create this bronze summer makeup, eye shadow look, I used four colours from the Kylie cosmetics Bronze extended pallet: Goodies, Amber, Chakra and Copper. This Bronze palate is perfect if you want to create a gold sunset on your eyes. This look is flawless for summer pool parties, a light brunch with the girls and day time movies. Also, bronze summer makeup is perfect for summer lol duuurrhhh! Its even more glorious for sunny photography as each colour on your face illuminates and makes you look like a  Goddess.

Let’s talk about the cheeks Babay!!! I’ve used good old contour powder from LA Girl Cosmetics, added a peachy blush from the L.A Girl Blush Collection in Spice and added some star dust from DoDo Girl Professional makeup as highlighter.

I brightened my under eyes using true caramel powder from Essence cosmetics, after I concealed with L.A Girl Warm Honey concealer, which happened after I used the Mac Cosmetics foundation in shade NW45. To finish off this bronze summer look, I used the Mac Cosmetics Studio Fix Compact Powder in Shade NW45 and set everything with L’Oréal setting spray.

For my pout, I first highlighted my lips with the Gold Star dust highlighter from the DoDo Girl Professional Cosmetics then filled my lips with L’Oréal colour stay matte lipstick 347 and Mac Cosmetics Ruby Woo.

I’m writing this at 4AM in the Morning. I slept early, and have a lot to do once the clock strikes 7AM, so making the most of my time. All images taken by Linda Mudika.

Thanks for visiting, come back soon.

XOXO
