SA FASHION WEEK BLOGGERS BEATRICE BANDA JACKI MNISI : SAFW Day 2: ILAN AND RUBICON
SA FASHION WEEK BLOGGERS
I had the pleasure of making an appearance at day two of SA fashion week with the lovely JACKY MNISI, owner and founder of ‘ i stole the look’ a massive fashion blog about seeing another’s outfit and stealing it in terms of copying what they wore or incorporating the outfit in a new look.
We watched a couple of shows that evening and I was mostly intrigued by the RUBICON and ILAN collections. RUBICON showcased, in my interpretation, ready to wear urban glamour, something I would incorporate in my functional wardrobe. There were some pieces I liked like the dress worn by LERATO MOLOI which was a white evening dress or a wedding gown.
RIMMEL LONDON
I wouldn’t necessarily go all the way and call it a wedding dress at it appeared a little bit too simple for one of those but, the outfit stood out.
Another designer that stood out for me was ILAN. This collection honestly made a lot of sense. The sheer fabrics screamed light weather, radiant sunshine and cool breeze all in the theme of warmer weathers to come.
Huge thanks to RIMMEL LONDON for all the gifts we received. We received on day ONE of SAFW the EXTRA 3D LASH MASCARA from RIMMEL which was the one I used this evening and it made such a difference, I didn’t have to apply falsies and this goes for the rest of Fashion Week.
The neck piece
I’m not going to talk too much about my outfit as I picked a pair of Grey jeans distressed only at the knee and a grey tank top oh, and shoes from CALL IT SPRING with a sling bag from YDE. I will however go in detail about my neck piece.
I chose this neck piece because I wanted to add a little more drama to my semi casual look. The piece is from ATHALIAS BOUTIQUE in Pretoria and it’s available to order. I got a lot of compliments wearing this neck piece LOL from some calling it a statement piece to others calling it a spider. ( It does look like a spider, doesn’t it?) Its actually a bra piece. One wears it over a bra during cultural events, as an accessory, of course 🙂
Outfit of the day
Jacky was wearing pants from ZARA, clutch from FOREVER NEW, her shoes were a present and my favorite piece – her crop top from MOZAMBIQUE FLEE MARKET. Its always a pleasure spending time with like-minded people and going with Jacki just made the evening even more fun as she has just such a bubbly personality
That’s it for our DAY 2 SAFW coverage.
