HELLO FROM CAPE TOWN

Hello from Cape Town, Western Cape. I remember these images as if they were taken only yesterday. It had been a long and overdue holiday in the UK, way before I stepped on Cape Town soil. Yoh! when I say that Europe was a breath of fresh air, I mean, there was too much fresh air. My stay in Great Britain was as chilled and relaxed as a Cozy Sunday Winter afternoon in Bed. I ate everything and anything my mom and sister cooked. I didn’t care what it was, if it tasted good, it would meet my tummy.

I remember my sister buying a red velvet cheese cake from Ice Land one day plus a chocolate ganache cake as well. When I took my first bite of the Chocolate ganache cake, I was hooked. Before 3 am that night, there was only one piece left. So to cut a very long but delicious story short, when I landed in cape town after having spent most of my December with family, I was THICK!!  But… it wasn’t that bad, I think I looked ok… My swimsuit fitted way better a couple of days before the beach but I didn’t care, I came to have fun and fun I had. You see, if you are not ok with yourself others opinion will always matter to you. Well, I knew the plan, enjoy have fun, the diet will start back in pretoria, and it was done. Plus, my man never puts me down, he’s my biggest cheerleader so it’s easy to be the best version of myself when everyone is sheering me on and allowing me to be me.

I remember this morning so vividly. I was excited to finally be at the beach. I went with my boyfriend, so all photos are curtesy of him. Anyway… the feeling of being in the ocean is one you can’t get used to. This natural body of water is strong yet soft, whimsical and fun current. With every leap over a wave, my heart would skip many beats because of the excitement. I was in the sea with a huge and wide smile on my face and I felt like I was the only one in the ocean but as you can see, it was a whole lot of us.

This day is a day I will never forget, the day I let lose and played in the beach sand like a 4-year-old without a care in the world. On this day I had my best fun ever. And the beach was the most perfect way to end a vacation in Cape Town. Hello from Cape town and Goodbye.
