The First toothpaste i ever bought for myself was a toothpaste that we used back home. I am not going to name the toothpaste because this post is about Curaprox BE YOU toothpaste and not the other brands. My choice for purchasing that branded toothpaste was heavily influenced by my family. And what we used at home was very generic and at the time I knew nothing about the fancy life of washing my mouth and brushing my teeth with luxury. For me toothpaste was toothpaste.

Funny story: We used to call every toothpaste ‘colgate’. My mom would send me to go buy colgate and she would say, ‘the aquafresh’ one lol!!!

When i grew up and started working, I remember my sister coming back home with a toothpaste that was different. I didn’t care much about it but i noticed that her teeth were much whiter. We have naturally healthy and white teeth at home , thanks to Genetics, but, on this particular day my sisters teeth were VERY WHITE. So, i asked her what she was using and she showed me the brand.

I used it and let me tell you… We went to church that following weekend and our peers noticed that our teeth were brighter and more shiny. They didn’t ask what we were using, they just complimented our smiles.

One guy at church, one I wasn’t too familiar with, noticed my teeth and complimented me. I was taken aback by the compliment but i took it regardless. He later told me that white teeth are a sign of youth. I didn’t know what he was talking about until i noticed that the younger girls at church had whiter teeth without even trying.

On further investigation, i read that teeth, overtime, tend to stain, depending on the food you consume, the drinks you drink and how often you brush your teeth. If you eat a lot of ‘staining’ food, your teeth will, overtime, stain. So it’s important to take care of your teeth, use mouthwash and brush regularly, especially as you age.

There was a time when i was not taking care of myself and my teeth

I remember being so depressed, for months, that self care was not a priority in my life. Finally snapped out of it when I was no longer depressed and I could see the effect of depression in regards to selfcare. It was horrible. I could not recognize myself in the mirror

I had developed some decay in between my front teeth and they had lost their brightness and shine. I woke up and started taking better care of myself and immediately changed my mouth hygiene practices. This is what i did… some tooth brushing practice tips:

• brush two to three times a day
• brush for 2 to 3 minutes at a time
• be sure to brush every surface of each tooth
• make circular motions when brushing
• avoid brushing the gums or brush them very gently
• be sure to reach the teeth at the back of the mouth

After a week, i saw the difference and now i can smile knowing my teeth represent me well.

Moving on to about a week ago
