5 Changes that gave me clear skin

1. 3 liters of water a day: How to get Clear Skin.

By drinking 3 liters of water daily, it will help flush out bacteria and toxins that are trapped within your system. Studies show that by drinking more water, the kidneys get rid of the waste and toxins that pass through the liver.

Drinking water helps to hydrate your skin barrier, and flush out the bacteria underneath the surface of your skin that causes acne. Stress, your diet, environmental factors also trigger acne. If your skin is dehydrated or stressed, water can definitely help clear your skin.

2. Drank my greens: How to get Clear Skin When I first started drinking green smoothies I put too many sweet ingredients because spinach doesn’t exactly taste good raw. Come to think of it, spinach tastes so bad that most people eat it with cream aka Cream Spinach. But I now know the benefits green smoothies because 7 days after only drinking green smoothies and water, my skin felt smooth and glossy and healthy.

So Yes, our not so favorite green drink is good for our skin. There are lots of reasons to load up the blender with leafy greens as a base to the favorite smoothie, and healthy, glowing skin is a bonus! All the antioxidants that are found in green vegetables help prevent inflammation that causes skin irritations AND phytochemicals protect against wrinkles. Drinking greens also helps the stomach absorbs them better as liquids get “digested ” first and faster that solids. If you chew your greens you will also get good benefits but the benefits come at a slower pace.

My go-to Green Smoothie ingredients.
Baby spinach
Celery
Strawberries
Berries and some almond milk to lighten the texture and
Stevia to make it sweet.

3. Exercise ( working out)
I try to go to the gym as often as I can because it helps me deal with periodic sadness , anxiety and general stress at work.
If I’m feeling a bit blue before gym… after gym I feel like Serena Williams. I feel like Wonder Woman and I can get very cocky lol because nothing can faze me.

Working out is good for our bodies (and our confidence!) in so many ways, but did you know it’s good for our skin, too? When you break a sweat during your workout, your body is getting rid of toxins in your skin. The result? A beautiful post-workout glow! I feel the prettiest during seasons where I often go to the gym.

4. Sunscreen : How to get Clear Skin
When we were little girls, my dad would insist that we only play after 3 PM during school holidays because the sun ‘would have set’ by then. We always thought it was torture because we wanted to play before noon . Little did we know that we would be thanking him for not making us burn in the sun.

And, because we were very young we broke the rules when he wasn’t around. The result was beautiful brown girls darker around the face and darker around the legs- if we were wearing shorts and miniskirts and very short sleeves.

I love my skin tone, don’t get me wrong but, my skin texture improved after I started wearing sunscreen daily. My skin tone was brighter, smoother and the same colors as my neck, which is always a plus.

As I grow older, I know i’m blessed with good genetics but no good genetics will help if i’m constantly working against my genetics. I can’t say that just because we have good genes i don’t need to work out, eat right and drink lots of water. We can get very careless as people, but age will catch up with us sooner or later if we don’t start taking better care of ourselves.
